Inventec will recruit 1,000 people to increase the number of employees in Taiwan from 6,000 to 7,000 in 2015, according to company chairman Richard Lee.
The Taiwan-based ODM needs more employees for PV, cloud computing and server businesses, Lee indicated. In particular, the number of software engineers at Inventec's Taipei headquarters will increase from over 100 to 500 in 2015, Lee said, adding durig the same period, the number of software engineers in China will rise from 1,000 to 2,500-3,000.
Currently, Inventec has a R&D team of about 8,000 members around the world and 80% of them are based in Taiwan.
Inventec has 65% of consolidated revenues coming from notebooks, tablets and all-in-one PCs, 20% from servers, 10% from smartphones and other hand-held devices, and 5% from PV products. |
