Vizio aims to reach 1.5 million in sales of large-size TVs sized 60- to 120-inch during 2014, according to company chairman Wang Wei.
The chairman believes that consumers, particularly in North America, are increasingly interested in large-size units with increased resolutions such as Ultra HD, which is expected to carry over into 2014 and thus increase the company's sales of large-size units.
Wang said that pricing will also be a major factor in sales of such TVs in the North America market, adding that consumers in the US are very particular about pricing. Wang also said he believes that content services are increasingly important but that it depends on the market, as places like North America have a mature content market, making size and affordability more of a focal point.
Vizio aims to sell 7.7 million LCD TVs in the North America market in 2014, up from 6.4 million in 2013, added Wang. |
