Global demand for PC-use standard DRAM in 2014 is estimated at 1.795 billion GB, increasing 9.7% on year, according to Digitimes Research.
Although desktop, notebook and DRAM module unit shipments in 2014 will decrease by 1.8%, 2.5% and 11.8% respectively on year, total bit demand for standard DRAM will increase due to significant increases in DRAM capacity in desktops and notebooks.
Consequently, 2014 global bit demand will rise by 9.4% on year to 687.4 million GB for desktops, by 10.7% to 861 million GB for notebooks and by 7.6% to 246.1 million GB for DRAM modules. |
