LG Electronics is pursuing claims in Korea-based court that Taiwan-based panel makers have fixed LCD pricing, leading to losses for the company, according to media reports.
The reports cited LG's spokesperson Juah Kim saying LG is calling on major panel makers such as AU Optronics (AUO), Innolux, Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) and Hannstar Display to compensate LG for a total of approximately US$848,000 for alleged LCD price fixing for LCDs used in TV and other screen applications.
Taiwan panel makers have yet to comment on the allegation as they have yet to receive relevant papers related to the case, the reports added.
