Reports suggest that Apple might not launch a 12.9-inch iPad this year after all. Until now, we assumed that 2014 is the year in which Apple goes 'big' with their products, and we mean it literally. With two iPhones in the pipeline and at least one of them packing a display larger than 5-inches, Apple rumor mill is in full steam.
According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, tablet shipments is going to drop this year. Kuo, who has been bang on with his numerous predictions in the past, also stated that Apple might drop plans to introduce a 12.9-inch iPad (to go up against the new Galaxy Tab Pro and Note Pro 12.2 from Samsung) this year. Kuo, in his report, says that Apple might not even launch a new iPad Mini this year. Instead, we might just see an iPad Air refresh hit the market in late 2014. According to the analyst, the next iPad Air will be powered by the Apple A8 SoC, and might also feature a 2nd generation TouchID fingerprint scanner. |
