Lenovo lifted the covers off a trio of S series mid-range Android Smartphones. The cheapest of the bunch is the S660, which is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582) chipset. Lenovo has populated the spec sheet, despite its price, with a 4.7-inch qHD (960 x 540) IPS LCD display, 1 GB RAM, 3,000 mAh "all day" battery, 8 MP rear camera, 8 GB of expandable storage and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. All this can be had for $229, contract-free.
Next up is S850, which features upgraded specifications such as a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) display, 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras and a thinner chassis. The processor (1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582), RAM (1 GB) and OS (Android 4.2 Jelly Bean) remain untouched. Of course, it's priced higher, at $269 sans any contract.
Lastly, there's the S860, which is the top-dog new entrant. This one's fitted with a massive 4,000 mAh battery, and RAM has been bumped up to 2 GB as well. Apart from that, you get the same chipset, same version of Android, dual front-facing speakers, 8 MP rear camera (downgrade), 16 GB of internal storage, 5.3-inch HD (1280 x 720) display and an off-contract price tag of $349.
