MediaTek saw its revenues soar 22.5% on month and 158.2% on year to a record high of NT$15.73 billion (US$519.62 million) in February. For the first two months of 2014, revenues amounted to NT$28.58 billion, increasing 96.5% from a year earlier.

　　MediaTek's 8-core solutions enjoyed strong sales in China recently, and the initial sales of the 8-core chips are the best for all chips ever released by the chip vendor, according to a Chinese-language Liberty Times report.

　　MediaTek is expected to ship five million 8-core CPUs in the first quarter of 2014 and a total of 50 million units in the year, the paper said, citing data from international securities investment firms.
