Huawei Device and Coolpad have launched 7-inch Android 4.2 phablets (smartphone-tablet hybrids), the Honor X1 and 9976A, for sale in the China market at below CNY2,000 (US$326).
The Honor X1 features a Kirin 910 1.6GHz quad-core processor developed by Huawei's affiliate HiSilicon Technologies, 1920 by 1200 touch screen, 2GB RAM and 8GB ROM, and 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. The 9976A is equipped with a MT6592 1.7GHz 8-core processor developed by MediaTek, 1920 by 1200 touch screen, 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, and 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera.
Huawei has set a contract-free price of CNY1,799 for the 3G Honor X1 and CNY1,999 for the 4G version and has received pre-orders for more than one million units, according to local media reports. In addition to the China market, Huawei has launched the Honor X1 in Europe at EUR399 (US$552).
Coolpad has cooperated with online shopping portal 360buy pre-orders of the 9976A quickly sold out the 50,000 units available in the first batch, the reports noted. |
