As orders for cloud computing servers continue to increase, Quanta Computer is expected to achieve its sales goal for the first quarter of 2014 and see further growth in the second, helping its direct supply orders account for 90% of its server shipments, up from 80% in 2013, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
In the second half, with Intel's new CPU platforms, Quanta is expected to see even stronger demand, the sources noted.
Quanta previously noted that its cloud computing clients' inquiries grew 10 times from early 2012 and the company expects its server shipments to grow 20% on year in 2014, and revenues from the sever business to grow 40% on year.
Microsoft demonstrated its new rack mountable servers recently, two of which were designed and manufactured by Quanta. |
