Following the steps of fellow companies Huawei, Coolpad and Gionee, China-based Beijing Tianyu Communication Equipment, the vendor of K-Touch brand smartphones in China, has launched a secondary brand, the nibiru, to further promote its smartphones through online selling.
Tianyu (K-Touch) plans to launch six series of nibiru smartphones, targeting the entry-level, mid-range and high-end segments, respectively, according to industry sources.
K-Touch has started marketing the first model of the nibiru family, the H1, which is powered by a MediaTek 1.7GHz 8-core MT6592H CPU, and also features a 5-inch 1080p display, a 13-megapixel camera and 16GB RAM. The H1 is available for CNY998 (US$162).
K-Touch will release two nibiru phones, the J1 and H1C, on May 1, the sources noted. |
