The smartphone supply chain is seeing increased orders from China handset vendors, most notably for 4G units, according to industry sources.
The sources said China handset vendors are optimistic about large-size 4G smartphone sales in China during 2014 in addition to large-size high-specification units as 4G develops in China.
The supply chain is expected to see steady orders throughout the year for the units, particularly in second-quarter 2014 when orders were originally thought to be slow, the sources noted.
China telecom providers expect about 200 million smartphones to be sold in China during 2014, with half for 4G units, the sources added.
