Compal Electronics has reported consolidated revenues of NT$67.58 billion (US$2.25 billion) for March 2014, representing a 36.5% increase on month and 4.37% increase on year. Compal shipped 3.5 million notebooks in March. Inventec and Wistron have also announced on-month revenue growth for March.
  Compal has reported NT$170.57 billion in first-quarter revenues, up 2% compared with the same time in 2013, but down 11% sequentially. The company's notebook shipments in the quarter reached nine million units, down 36% from the previous quarter.
  Compal expects notebook and smart device shipments to both enjoy sequential growth in the second quarter.
  Compal expects its notebook shipments to surpass 40 million units in 2014, up 5% from 38 million units in 2013 with the growth contributed mainly by increased orders from Dell and Lenovo as well as new orders from Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Toshiba. The maker has also landed orders for iPad and saw increased orders for Amazon's mobile devices.
  Meanwhile, Wistron shipped 1.8 million notebooks in March with revenues for the month growing 43.69% on month, but decreasing 15.95% on year to reach NT$51.17 billion. Wistron's first-quarter revenues were NT$125.82 billion, down 20.49% on year.
  Inventec shipped 1.7 million notebooks in March and had revenues of NT$40.74 billion, up 21.35% on month and 15.87% on year. Its first-quarter revenues were NT$116.68 billion, up 15.8% on year.
