Asustek Computer started selling its ZenFone series smartphones in Taiwan on April 8. Chairman Jonney Shih said the company expects sales of its ZenFone products to surpass five million units in 2014.
  The 5-inch ZenFone 5 (A501CG) is priced at NT$4,490 (US$149), while the other version of the ZenFone 5 (A500CG) is priced at NT$4,990. Both smartphones are free bundled of Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) 3G service plans.
  The 6-inch ZenFone 6 is priced at NT$6,990 and is available starting NT$1,490 with 3G service plans.
  As for the US$99 4-inch ZenFone 4, company president Jerry Shen said the device will be released in May with a larger battery capacity to satisfy consumer demand. The ZenFone 4's price will stay around US$99 in Taiwan.
  The ZenFone series products adopt Intel's Atom processor and Corning's Gorilla Glass 3. The ZenFone 5 also features 5-inch HD IPS+ technology and an 8-megapixel PixelMaster camera. The ZenFone 6 has a 13-megapixel PixelMaster camera and Asustek's SonicMaster audio technology.
  In the second half, Asustek will release at least three Intel-based tablets including one for the high-end segment.
  In addition to the ZenFone series, Asustek also launched the PadFone mini, a combination of a 4-inch smartphone and 7-inch tablet, featuring an Atom Z2560 processor and dual-SIM support, priced at NT$7,990.
