Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) on April 17 announced cooperation with Sony Mobile Communications to launch four 4G-enabled smartphones and a 4G-enabled tablet in a bid to promote its 4G services which are scheduled for launch in the third quarter of 2014.
  The four 4G-enabled smartphones and the corresponding contract-free retail prices are Xperia Z2 at NT$23,900 (US$791), Xperia Z1 LTE at NT$19,900, Xperia T2 Ultra at NT$14,900 and Xperia M2 with a price not yet determined. The Xperia Z2 Tablet has a contract-free retail price of NT$16,900 for the 16GB version.
  CHT said it plans to launch more than 30 4G-enabled terminal devices by the end of the second quarter of 2014 and aims at 400,000 4G subscribers by the end of 2014. CHT expects 4G-enabled models to account for 80% of all terminal devices procured in 2015 for contract-bundled sale.
