Apple and Samsung Electronics combined took an 85% share of the 4G LTE smartphone market in China in the first two months of 2014, according to data compiled by China-based Sino Market Research.
  Local brand Coolpad ranked the number three with a 10% share in the LTE segment, and fellow company K-Touch followed with a 2.5%, Sino said.
  Meanwhile, handset shipments in China totaled over 100 million units in the first quarter of 2014, including 43.68 million TD-SCDMA models, 20.79 million WCDMA phones, 15.16 million CDMA 2000 models, 11.44 million 2G units and 9.74 million TD-LTE devices, according to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
  Of the total handsets shipped in China in the first quarter, those shipped by local brands reached 66.86 million units, decreasing 34.9% from a year earlier, while those shipped by international players increased 9.2% to 33.95 million units, MIIT data showed.
