Today, Motorola announced via its official Twitter channel that the company shipped 6.5 million Smartphones globally in Q1 2014 alone. While these numbers don't come close to that of Apple or Samsung, they certainly spell good news for a company that hasn't managed to get much time under the spotlight in the last 2-3 years. The Motorola Moto G most definitely accounts for a majority of the 6.5 million devices shipped, mainly thanks to a spec sheet and price point that beats the competing Nokia Lumia 520 black and blue.
With more Moto G variants headed our way, could Motorola turn the tide and return to profitability under Lenovo's leadership within the next year? It does look likely, seeing the latest numbers. |
