Taiwan-based ODMs will ship a total of 33.476 million notebooks in the second quarter of 2014, accounting for 83.91% of global total. The volume will represent a sequential decrease of 0.7% and an on-year decline of 8.4%, according to Digitimes Research.
While ODM orders from China-based Lenovo will decrease sequentially, shipments to Taiwan-based Asustek Computer and Acer will increase by 7-10% and those to Dell by nearly 10%, according to Digitimes Research estimates in its latest quarterly report on the notebook sector.
Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics and Wistron will be the three largest ODMs, with Compal expected to see the highest sequential growth in second-quarter shipments. |
