The long-running high-profile patent infringement case between Apple and Samsung has drawn to a close. The jury has reached a verdict, and it won't make Tim Cook particularly happy. It has been found that Samsung has infringed on three of Apple's patents. As a result, the Korean company has been directed to pay $119 million in damages. Meanwhile, the Cupertino company has been found guilty of infringing on only one of Samsung's patents. They have to pay only $160,000, which is literally like donating leftover change for Apple.
Apple had originally sought a staggering $2.2 billion from Samsung, and we are pretty sure that both sides are going to file appeals.
