There will be 3.6 million MacBook notebooks shipped in the second quarter of 2014, increasing 28.6% on quarter, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers.
MacBook will perform better than notebooks launched by other vendors in terms of second-quarter shipments. Shipments of other notebooks in the second quarter are expected to grow only slightly or decline on quarter, the sources said.
MacBook shipments in 2014 were originally estimated at 10 million units, slipping 16.7% on year, the sources indicated. Due to better than expected shipments in the second quarter, MacBook shipments in 2014 will likely reach 12 million units, the sources noted. |
