Asustek Computer is expected to attain its target global shipments of 10 million ZenFone smartphnes in 2014 as the devices are seeing significant demand in the China market, according to sources with Taiwan-based handset component makers.

　　The sources said Asustek has increased compnents orders for Zenfone.

　　China and Southeast Asia are main target markets for ZenFone, the sources noted. Asustek is leveraging its existing retail networks for notebooks and motherboards in China to promote the smartphones, the sources said.

　　The sources said consumers in China tend to go for branded devices rather than white-box ones if the prices are similar because of concerns over the latter.
