Qualcomm will hold its annual event, Qualcomm Reference Design (QRD) 2014 in Shenzhen, China on May 15. Participants will include Taiwan-based FocalTech Systems, Himax Technologies and Elan Microelectronics.

　　Qualcomm is expected to focus on promoting its 4G solutions at QRD, highlighting an array of 4G smartphones at the event, according to industry sources.

　　Qualcomm's 4G solutions, including its Snapdragon 400, 600 and 800 family products, have found their ways into the entry-level, mid-range and high-end smartphone segments of China's handset industry.

　　Snapdragon chips to be covered in the QRD program will include Snapdragon S1-, Snapdragon S4 Play-, Snapdragon 200- and 400-series as well as its 4G 64-bit quad-core-series, the sources noted.
