Taiwan Mobile (TWM) on May 22 unveiled two own-brand 4G smartphones, the Amazing X1 and Amazing X2, an own-brand 3G smartphone, the Amazing A8, and an own-brand 4G-supporting tablet, the Amazing P6, for launch in June 2014, according to the company.

　　Amazing X1, X2 and P6, all support 700MHz/900MHz/1800MHz 4G frequency bands and are produced by China-based ZTE on an ODM basis, while Amazing A8 is made by Foxconn Electronics, TWM senior vice president Jeff Ku indicated.

　　TWM plans to kick off 4G commercial operations in five metropolitan areas in July 2014, with initial network coverage of 70-80%, Ku said. There will be nearly 20 4G-ready mobile terminal devices available then, Ku said.

　　Own-brand Amazing-series devices accounted for 30% of smartphones sold bundled with contracts during January-April 2014 and the proportion for all of 2014 is likely to be 40%, Ku indicated.
