Touch panel makers such as O Film, GIS, EELY and Truly Optoelectronics are seeing increased orders from Sony Mobile Communications as the company attempts to further compete in the mid-range smartphone market.

　　Sony aims to further compete against Samsung Electronics in the mid-range handset segment and is looking to China makers for low-priced solutions.

　　Other vendors in China as well as other international vendors are also taking similar measures, which is bringing in increased business for China-based makers.

　　Taiwan makers meanwhile are struggling to compete in the segment as a result, and are attempting to regain strength through specialized solutions.
