NPD Group has released a new report showing that during the last year, tablet sales were down for the first time. The decline was not significant--just 5 percent--but it may be a sign of what's to come for the tablet market in 2014. Tablets have taken a hit in recent months now that more people are using large-screen smartphones for media consumption, something that tablets used to be great at.
Apple's tablet shipments were down 16.1 percent, though a new iPad sometime in 2014 may help to turn those sales around. |
