USB controller maker ASMedia will begin to sample USB 3.1 to SATA device controller chips in August 2014, according to company president Chewei Lin.
Additionally, ASMedia is also expected to roll out its USB 3.1 host controller solutions in September, Lin added.
ASMedia's transmission interface product lines cover USB 3.1, SATA Express, Thunderbolt and PCI Express, and it is able to design integrated interface solutions for clients, Lin stated.
ASMedia's interface solutions have entered Broadcom's reference design platform, as well as the supply chain of Xiaomi Technology.
ASMedia has seen shipments of its PCIe to PCIe and SATA to SATA controller chips continue to gain momentum since the beginning of 2014, buoyed by the release of Intel's 9-series chipsets, noted the company, adding that it also started shipping SATA Express controller chips in April.
ASMedia posted revenues of US$520 million (US$17.31 million), net profits of NT$75 million and an EPS of NT$1.30 in the first four months of 2014, according to the company.
