MediaTek is expected to ship over 200 million 3G handset solutions in China in 2014, accounting for a 50% share of the segment and making MediaTek the top 3G solution vendor in the country, according to industry sources.

　　Qualcomm has shifted its marketing efforts from 3G to 4G solutions, and therefore has seen its share in the 3G solution segment continue to decline quarter on quarter, the sources indicated.

　　On the other hand, MediaTek is still focusing on sales of 3G solutions for smartphones to be sold in China and overseas markets, added the sources.

　　MediaTek also aims to ship 70-90 million 2.5G and EDGE chips and 15 million 4G chips in 2014.
