Korean publication DDaily reports that Samsung is working on a Smartphone powered by Intel's Atom chipset. Said to be utilizing the new Moorefield platform, the 64-bit processor will be used to power an Android Smartphone from Samsung, which would make it the company's first such phone.
DDaily reports that Samsung has limited the chipset's core frequency to 1.7 GHz, down from the original 2.3 GHz, to keep power consumption under check. Also, Intel went to great lengths to get Samsung on-board, offering their $20 chips for as little as $7.
Samsung's Intel-powered phone might arrive before the end of 2014.
