Several months back, we had posted about Google's ambitious plans to relaunch Google TV under a new brand. Well, Android TV is all but official now, with several media reports and a pulled app changelog pointing towards an imminent announcement at Google I/O this year.

Bloomberg Businessweek reports that Android TV will be announced at Google's annual developer conference later today. The WSJ reports that Android TV runs on Android OS, and could end up with an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor under the hood. Not much is known at the moment, but the report does mention a special focus on gaming.
