In Google's I/O 2014 keynote presentation, the Mountain View company unveiled several new features of the Android Wear platform. Android Wear, built specially for Smartwatches and other similar wearable gadgets, follows Google's new Material Design language.

Using the Android Wear SDK, developers will be able to create powerful apps for Smartwatches. Voice replies, notification pages, stacked notifications, mobile payments (yes, from your Smartwatch), (Hangouts) messages and of course, Google Now Cards are features of this ultra-mobile platform.

Android Wear can also connect to Android Smartphones and sync data with the same. There are beautiful watch faces to be tried on, fitness applications to help you train better, notifications that always deliver at the right time, and the ability make quick payments or replies to messages by just taking a glance at them form the heart of Google's new ecosystem for wearables.

Also, Pinterest has announced its native app for Android Wear.

Until now, three Android Wear based Smartwatches have been announced - Motorola Moto 360, LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live.
