Xiaomi's "Hunger Marketing" technique works, and it works well. After massively hyping a new device, the Chinese company then puts up a limited number of units of the device for sale, online. These are quickly grabbed up by people who fell for the hype or are really interested in the device.
In this case, we are talking about the Xiaomi MiPad, the world's first Tegra K1 powered Android tablet. Priced at 1499 Yuan ($240) for the 16 GB model, Xiaomi sold 50,000 units of the MiPad tablet in just 3 minutes and 59 seconds. Not bad, eh?
