IC design house MediaTek has reported revenues of NT$15.71 billion (US$524.91 million) for June, down 18.8% sequentially but up 60.7% on year. Second-quarter revenues were up 17.7% to NT$54.13 billion, meeting its guidance of NT$51.5-55.2 billion.

A slowdown in pull-in orders from China's handset sector after the May 1 holiday season contributed to sales declines in June, according to industry sources.

However, MediaTek's shipments o 4G solutions, wireless charging chips and IC parts for wearable devices are expected to gain momentum in the third quarter, pushing its revenues for the quarter to over US$2 billion compared to US$1.81 billion recorded a quarter earlier, the sources estimated.

For the first half of 2014, MediaTek posted revenues of NT$100.1 billion, increasing 74.9% from a year earlier.
