Second-quarter revenues amounted to NT$6.66 billion, up 11.5% from a year ago, driven by a 90% growth in shipments of SSD devices, noted the company.

Transcend expects its shipments of industrial control devices to gain momentum in July and sales of SSD products to increase significantly due to the release of new items, including high-capacity 1TB products.

Meanwhile, fellow company Adata Technology saw its revenues gain 10% sequentially but lose 20% on year to NT$2.65 billion in June. Accumulated revenues for January-June 2014 totaled NT$14.81 billion, decreasing 11.6% from a year earlier.
