Pegatron is expected to see 2014 consolidated revenues and net profit exceed NT$1 trillion (US$33.3 billion) and NT$10 billion respectively, mainly due to shipments of new-generation iPhones and iPads beginning in the third quarter, according to market analysts.

Although rumors have spread that ODMs such as Wistron and Compal Electronics have managed to snatch some Apple orders from Pegatron and Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry), the analysts believe Wistron and Compal are not yet competent to handle orders for the latest-generation iPhone and iPad.

Foxconn and Pegatron will remain key partners of Apple for the upcoming new iPhones and iPads, the analysts said, adding it may take some time before Wistron and Compal may completely win Apple's trust.

Taiwan-based suppliers already started preparing for Apple's new products in May. Pegatron's production lines in Shanghai and Kunshan, China have also finished preparation and will start initial shipments in August, the analysts added.
