Quanta Computer shipped 4.3 million notebooks in June, increasing 10.25% on month, and 11.5 million units in the second quarter, rising 9.52% sequentially, according to the company.
Quanta Computer on July 10 reported consolidated revenues of NT$71.803 billion (US$2.39 billion) for June, growing 2.41% on month and 4.77% on year. The company saw consolidated revenues of NT$214.504 billion for the second quarter inch down 0.62% on quarter, and NT$430.388 billion for January-June up 10.82% on year.
The sequential growth in second-quarter notebook shipments with a sequential drop in the revenues was because ASPs of notebooks shipped in the second quarter were lower, Quanta Computer said.
With Hewlett-Packard and Apple being two main clients, Quanta Computer expects notebook shipments in the third quarter to rise by more than 10%.
