Move over Apple...Google is taking over the educational market with its Chromebooks. The company revealed during an earnings call last week that it had sold 1 million Chromebooks to schools during the last quarter. The low-cost, internet-based devices are perfect for schools who need students to have access to Google services.
Google says that between Chromebooks and tablets, schools have pretty much everything they need. Apple was one of the first companies to make a big push for the classroom with the iPad, but many schools are moving towards cheaper and more functional devices now that they are available. Chromebooks may not be as feature-packed, but they sure are more affordable for schools on a budget. |
