An estimated 1.1 million LCD TVs will be sold in the Taiwan market in 2014, approximately unchanged on year, according to Chimei Nexgen Mediatech, which runs the Chimei brand.

Chimei sold nearly 90,000 LCD TVs in the Taiwan market in the first half of 2014 and aims to sell 200,000 units the whole year.

Chimei said 32-inch TV panels are in serious short supply currently, and supply of 48-inch TV panels is tight due to fewer producers, and there is shortage of Ultra HD TV panels because first-tier TV vendors have absorbed almost all output, Chimei indicated.
