Reports out of China suggest Apple will introduce a new iPad Mini that is 30 percent lighter than the current version. With the size decrease will also come a new name, the iPad Mini Air, according to the reports. A TSMC-manufactured Apple A8 processor is also expected in the iPad Mini Air, or whatever else Apple decides to name the tablet.

If these latest reports out of China are correct, then expect the so-called iPad Mini Air to be about 5.25mm thick. The iPad Air is also very thin, but among small tablets, the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is currently the thinnest at 6.6mm.
