President of Acer Taiwan Tony Huang has recently pointed out that the company saw strong demand from large enterprises for replacing their existing PCs in the first half of the year in Taiwan, while Asustek Computer president Kevin Lin noted that the replacement trend triggered by the end of support for Windows XP's will last into the second half of the year.
For the consumer market in Taiwan, Acer is set to unveil several new notebook models at Taipei Computer Applications Show (TCAS), Huang noted. Acer is also aggressively promoting and communicating with small-to-medium enterprises, looking to help them upgrade their PC products.
In August, Acer will also release new smartphones to attract consumer demand.
On the other hand, Asustek is currently seeing its 4G LTE-based products such as ZenFone 5, PadFone series smartphones, FonePad 7, 10-inch Transformer tablet and Nexus 7, enjoying strong sales. |
