Memory controller IC supplier Phison Electronics may see revenues for the second quarter of 2010 drop from NT$8 billion (US$249 million) registered in the prior quarter, but manage to keep its profits flat on quarter, according to market watchers.
The watchers estimated Phison generated net profits of more than NT$2.50 per share on revenues of NT$7.5-7.6 billion in the second quarter.
Phison was quoted in previous reports saying foreign exchange gains would offset the impact of NAND flash price fluctuations in the second quarter. Phison saw revenues for both April and May drop on month, blaming weak retail sales of NAND flash.
The watchers estimated Phison's June sales were NT$2.4 billion, up slightly from NT$2.3 billion in May.
Phison reported net income of NT$419 million for the first quarter of 2010, down 42% on quarter. Revenues for the quarter grew 1.1% sequentially to about NT$8 billion.
