The LCD TV supply chain has started processing orders for peak demand in the fourth quarter of 2014, and vendors are expected to focus promotions on large-size and Ultra HD models during the period, according to Taiwan-based makers.

Vendors such as Samsung Electronics will release new units sized 50-, 55-, 60- and 65-inch in order to meet expected demand in the North American market.

China TV vendors are also preparing for increased shipments around the October 1 holiday period, with AU Optronics (AUO) and Innolux expected to be the main panel suppliers.

TV vendors expect larger sizes to help drive profits as global TV shipments will see limited growth in 2014.

Ultra HD panels will also be primarily used in the larger size units, with many TV vendors in China expected to release units priced the same as Full HD units during the October 1 period, the makers said.
