DRAM backend firm Formosa Advanced Technologies (FATC) has reported revenues of NT$1 billion (US$31 million) for June 2010, up 3.3% on month and 26.8% on year. Peer Walton Advanced Engineering logged NT$644 million in June revenues, a monthly record.
FATC saw its sales rebound to above NT$1 billion in June, and revenues for the second quarter amount to NT$2.95 billion. Nanya Technology and Inotera Memories are among its major DRAM customers. Market watchers expect the company to enjoy revenue and profit growth substantially in the second half of 2010, buoyed by production ramp-ups of DDR3 chips at Nanya and Inotera.
Walton's June sales showed growth of 4.6% on month and 32.6% on year, according to the company. Revenues totaled NT$1.86 billion in the second quarter, up 16.2% sequentially. Walton revealed that its order visibility has been stretched to the fourth quarter. Monthly revenues are expected to grow sequentially through the end of the year.
In addition, Walton said recently-acquired facility from HannStar Display will start operation by the end of July. The new facility will boost Walton's capacity for DRAM products to 80 million chips a month from the current 65 million units.
