Samsung's IFA 2014 press event will reveal not only the Galaxy Note 4, but the rumored SIM-enabled Gear Solo, as well.

The smartwatch is said to be able to send text messages, make calls, and even access the Internet without having to connect to a smartphone.

The alleged device will rely on 3G signals and won't have access to high-speed LTE networks. This could be problematic if you mean for Gear Solo to be your smartphone replacement.

Samsung hasn't experienced much success in the smartwatch market. And while the Gear Solo could definitely be a head-turner, most eyes will most likely be on the Galaxy Note 4, or even Samsung's rumored virtual reality headset.
