HTC is bringing the Desire 816 to the United States. This 5.5-inch phablet has taken over the mid-range market across many markets, giving tough competition to the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra. Starting tomorrow, Virgin Mobile will offer the HTC Desire 816 for $299 without any contract.

The Desire 816 comes with a 5.5-inch HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5 GB RAM, a 13 MP rear camera and Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense UI.
