Taiwan panel makers AU Optronics (AUO) and Innolux are continuing to see orders from Samsung Electronics and Sony for curved Full HD and Ultra HD TVs, according to industry sources.

The two vendors are mostly putting in orders for 55-, 65- and 75-inch units and are expected to put in orders for the technology throughout the end of 2014.

Sony and Samsung are particularly interested in AUO's wide color gamut (WCG) panels. China-based vendors are starting to order the technology as well.

China is expected to be the largest Ultra HD TV market in 2014, and sales of high-end units are expected to increase, which will drive orders to AUO and Innolux, the sources added.
