Samsung announced its plans to buy HVAC appliances manufacturer Quietside. This comes after last week's acquisition of smart home all-in-one solution SmartThings by the company. This combination suggests Samsung's ambition to control every device in American homes.

"(Samsung) also plans to unveil an enhanced HVAC product lineup that better reflects the needs of North American customers," Samsung stated in its announcement of its 100 percent acquisition of Quietside.

This statement further hints at Samsung's desire to give its devices - from watches and phones to alarms and heaters - the ability to communicate with each other. With its extensive catalog of home appliances, Samsung is in a good position to contemplate taking over the entirety of a home's electronics.
