A report from China suggests that Apple is upgrading the RAM spec on the iPad Air 2 from 1 GB to a more future-proof 2 GB. The RAM bump will be applicable only to the 9.7-inch iPad model, and not on the upcoming iPad Mini Retina 2 refresh model, which will have 1 GB RAM.

Previously, we posted a report saying that the new iPhone 6 will come with 1 GB of RAM. Whether Apple manages to get away with it, or iOS 8 gets the better of them, remains to be seen.
