Don't see what the big buzz around wearables is? Obviously the world doesn't care about what you see or don't see. Canalys has published a new report which reveals the tremendous amount of growth that wearables device shipments have seen over the past one year alone.

According to the analyst group, nearly 4.5 million Smartwatches and fitness devices have been shipped in 1H 2014. This number is roughly 700% more than the number of items shipped during the same period last year.

With the release of Android Wear based devices, the upcoming Motorola 360 and Apple iWatch, wearable device shipments are only expected to grow in one direction, upwards.
