Mozilla's first Firefox OS smartphone will be launching in India this week, according to an announcement from the company. The phone, called the Cloud FX, runs Firefox OS and it includes fairly basic specs. Mozilla's Cloud FX is running a 1GHz processor, up to 4GB of memory, and it has a 3.5-inch display. None of those specs may sound great to people in the West, but remember, the Indian market is quite a bit different.
The Cloud FX was developed by Intex Technologies, and according to the announcement from Mozilla, it will support multiple languages automatically. Both Hindi and Tamil can be used out of the box.
Mozilla is only selling its Firefox OS phone in the area through Snapdeal.com. Mozilla appears to be going after the new smartphone user market, since the phone is limited in features but costs just $33.
