Apple has been successful in its attempts to get money from Samsung in court because of patent violations, but it has not been able to get bans against Samsung devices with as much ease. The latest example of that situation is Apple's second major lawsuit against Samsung that resulted in a $120 million settlement.
Judge Lucy Koh of the Northern California District Court may have decided in May that Apple had won, but it doesn't think bans on Samsung devices are necessary. Koh has officially ruled that Apple did not provide any evidence backing up its claims that Samsung phones should be banned from the US market.

Even though evidence of patent violations have shown wrongdoing on Samsung's part, much more is required to make a case for sales bans. |
