Toshiba today announced an ultra-affordable tablet that runs on Microsoft Windows 8.1. The Toshiba Encore Mini is a small tablet, featuring a low-resolution 7-inch 1024 x 600 display. It's powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735G processor that is clocked at 1.33 GHz base, and 1.83 GHz Turbo.

The biggest limitation one will find on the Toshiba Encore Mini is the low amount of RAM, which is limited to just 1 GB. For everyday tasks, it should suffice. However, don't expect this small wonder to perform heavy multi-tasking or tabbed browsing (not 20 tabs, for sure).

Internal storage is limited to 16 GB, although there's a microSD card slot for expansion. The tablet doesn't feature an HDMI port, but a microUSB port is present. There's a VGA front camera, 2 MP rear camera, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi b/g/n, a 13Wh battery that is rated for 7 hours of usage, and a super attractive price tag of just $120.
